Educational Objectives
At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Grasp the latest morphologic and molecular diagnostic approach for various cytology specimens, including breast, thyroid, pancreatobiliary, liver, anal, lymph node, ocular, and
    pediatric tumors
  • Understand the role of cytologic techniques, preparations, and ancillary testing in the evaluation of different cytologic specimens, including rapid on-site evaluation, immunohistochemistry, and molecular testing (e.g., HPV testing in gynecologic and anal cytology)
  • Describe the most up-to-date cytopathology reporting system terminology, including the 3rd edition of Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytopathology and the WHO Reporting System for Breast Cytopathology
  • Develop effective workflows and staffing models to manage cytology workloads efficiently
  • Recognize the importance of personal inventory and career development opportunities

Continuing Medical Education (CME)

The American Society of Cytopathology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The American Society of Cytopathology designates this live and enduring educational activity for a maximum of 24 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

American Board of Pathology Continuing Certification (CC)
This product can help fulfill the CME requirements mandated by the American Board of Pathology Continuing Certification (CC) process.

Continuing Medical Laboratory Education (CMLE)
The ASC designates these activities for the indicated number of Continuing Medical Laboratory Education (CMLE) credit hours.

This program is approved for 24 continuing education credits in the State of Florida and 12 in the State of California.

The credit on each webinar is good for three years from the live presentation date.
