The Progressive Evaluation of Competency (PEC) is offered to Pathology Residents and Cytopathology Fellows. PEC is designed to track residents and fellows progress through the year and overall competency in Cytopathology.

PEC helps fulfill requirements of ACGME for Training Programs evaluation of residents and fellows during training and before issuing a completion certificate.
- ASC is taking the lead in developing this stratified comprehensive examination series that covers all areas of cytopathology including new techniques and laboratory administration.
- These programs are available to Program Directors who are ASC members.
- The results will be returned to the Program Director for review with each resident and/or fellow.*
*PEC for Senior Resident results are returned immediately upon completion of the exam for printing and self-review and/or review with the Program Director.
