PEC for Pathology Residents Exam Information

The PEC for Pathology Residents Exams are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week beginning July 1^st and ending June 30^th.

The Progressive Evaluation of Competency (PEC) for Cytopathology Residents Program has been revised to offer two sets of online exams over the residents’ year that will track a resident’s baseline and final level of knowledge, and overall competency in cytopathology.

Each set of exams has a Pre-exam and Post-exam.

One set of exams cover topics in gynecological cytology and relevant laboratory operations and another set of exams cover  topics in non-gynecological, fine needle aspiration (FNA) and laboratory operations. Each exam has its own registration.

The Program is available only to Program Directors who are current ASC members and who register all residents in the Program for a fee per resident. The results will be returned to the resident for review with their Program Director. General and comparative statistics will be generated with field validation of the questions occurring over time.
